There’s something about a warm, sunny day that commands a refreshing, fruity beverage with just a hint of sweetness. One of my favorites is strawberry lemonade.
Unfortunately, most pre-made lemonades, fruity drinks and beverage powders / mixers sold in stores are loaded with refined sugar, artificial colors and unnatural ingredients like preservatives.
Fortunately, you can make a delicious and 100% natural strawberry lemonade with just 3 simple ingredients and water.
This lemonade recipe features two super nutritious ingredients:
Strawberries
Strawberries are loaded with antioxidants and vitamin C that:
- Strengthen the immune system and reduce inflammation in the body, which helps prevent serious diseases like cancer.
- Provide a natural anti-aging effect by boosting collagen production in the body and and toning skin.
- Deliver a rich source of magnesium and potassium that reduce hypertension. Plus, they’re an excellent source of fiber that’s very easy to digest!
Lemon Juice
- Stimulates liver function to remove toxins from the body.
- Loaded with vitamin C that cleans out free radicals, improves immune function and helps heal the body.
- The negative ions in lemon juice naturally increase energy and improve mood.
More good news…this recipe is a cinch to make!
THE RECIPE
STRAWBERRY LEMONADE RECIPE
~ Makes About 4.5 Cups ~
Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups of organic strawberries, fresh or frozen
- 1/4 cup of bottled organic lemon juice or the juice squeezed from 2 large lemons
- 1-3 tablespoons of pure maple syrup (depending on how sweet you like your lemonade)
- 2.5 cups of purified or spring water
Preparation:
- Put the strawberries, lemon juice and maple syrup into a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. (If using frozen strawberries, allow them to thaw a bit before blending.)
- Pour the mixture from the blender into a beverage pitcher (preferably glass), and then add the water. Whisk everything together until it is fully blended.
- Serve immediately over ice or chill in the fridge until cool.
- Optional: Garnish your glass with lemon and/or strawberry slices.
I typically use frozen organic strawberries to make my strawberry lemonade, so the initial mixture turns out pretty slushy:
Once I add the water, the lemonade is already chilled from the frozen strawberries. So good!
Cheers to enjoying delicious strawberry lemonade that’s 100% natural and free of refined sugar!
With love and gratitude,
Kandi
