That darn sweet tooth! It can sabotage your healthy-eating efforts in a hurry.
That’s why I was PSYCHED when I discovered this healthy, all-natural and unbelievably delicious cookie recipe with no refined sugar.
And guess what? It’s chocolatey, too. SCORE!
THE RECIPE
Ingredients
- 3 very ripe bananas
- 2 cups of gluten-free old fashioned rolled oats
- 1/3 cup of unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup of almond of sunflower seed butter
- 1/4 cup of cacao powder
- 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a cookie sheet with coconut oil or line it with unbleached parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas into mush and then stir in the other ingredients.
- Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes to bind.
- Drop dollops of the batter throughout the cookie sheet. You can make the cookies as big or small as you’d like. They will not expand or change shape much, since they aren’t loaded with typical baking ingredients like flour.
- Bake for 13-15 minutes.
- Allow the cookies to cool for at least 5 minutes and ENJOY!
NOTE: Since these cookies are all-natural and don’t contain preservatives, you’ll want to store them in the fridge until they’re eaten up. That shouldn’t take long though, since they’re so yummy!
