You barely make a dent before they’re about to go bad, and end up scrambling to figure out what to do with them so you don’t have to the throw them away.

Here’s an easy recipe that will help you to turn those apples into a DELICIOUS apple crisp that’s gluten-free and dairy-free with no refined sugar!

This apple crisp has a nice balance of fiber, plant-based protein and healthy fat. It also has a hearty dose of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants…with an extra health boost from cinnamon.

THE RECIPE

Apple Crisp Recipe

~ Yields 4 Servings~

Ingredients:

NOTE: Use organic ingredients to avoid health-harming chemicals in your food like pesticides.

  • 4 cups of apples, cubed (Macintosh are my personal fave for this recipe!)
  • 1/2 cup of gluten-free old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup of raw walnuts, chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons of pure maple syrup (will be divided as explained in the directions below)
  • 1 teaspoon of ground Ceylon cinnamon (will be divided as explained in the directions below)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375° F.
  2. In a glass backing dish (like these): Combine the cubed apples, 1 tablespoon of the maple syrup and 1/2 a teaspoon of cinnamon and mix well.
  3. In a mixing bowl: Combine the oats, walnuts, remaining 1 tablespoon of maple syrup and remaining 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and mix well.
  4. Spread the oat mixture evenly over the apple mixture and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are soft.
  5. ENJOY!

Leftovers: Store any leftovers in the fridge for 5-7 days.

Because it’s so healthy and loaded with energy-enhancing ingredients, this apple crisp makes a great breakfast when you’re feeling a morning sweet tooth.

You can pour a little coconut milk on top to turn it into a cereal. Or, you can top it with this clean and dairy-free whipped cream!

Still have more apples you need to use up? Give these no-bake apple cookies a try!
