Potato Pizza Crust & Simple Pizza Sauce Recipe

You know how when you clean up your diet, there are certain foods that just have to go and never come back? Pizza is usually on that list of foods.

Or let’s say you can’t eat foods with gluten or dairy because they make you sick. Pizza has to go in that case, too.

What if I told you it’s possible to enjoy pizza as part of a clean, gluten-free and dairy-free diet? IT’S POSSIBLE!

This super easy recipe for potato pizza crust makes it happen. It only requires gold potatoes and a few seasonings. Seriously, that’s it!

I’m also hooking you up with a crazy simple recipe for pizza sauce that you can make in less than 2 minutes.

And stay tuned to the end of this post for some healthy and delicious pizza topping ideas, including a link to my easy plant-based cheese recipe.

Now let’s have some pizza!

THE RECIPE

POTATO PIZZA CRUST

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of gold potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder

Preparation:

  1. Steam the potatoes until they are soft. (I use an Instant Pot and put it on the “Steam” setting for 13 minutes.)
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking tray with unbleached parchment paper.
  3. Once the potatoes are steamed, place all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Allow the dough to cool completely.
  4. Once cooled, pour the dough on the lined baking tray and use a wet spatula to spread it out evenly. You can make 1 large pizza crust or 3-4 small crusts.
  5. Place the baking tray in the oven for 20 minutes or until the crust is lightly browned. Remove the pan and pat the crust down with a spatula (it will be slightly puffed up).
  6. If you are adding pizza sauce (see recipe below) or other toppings you would like to eat warm, top the pizza with those items and return it to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Allow the pizza to cool and enjoy!

If you like tomato-based sauce on your pizza, it’s really easy to make:

Pizza Sauce Ingredients:
