Himalayan Pink Salt: Why It’s a Must-Have For a Healthy Kitchen

Sodium is an essential nutrient for human beings, meaning our bodies need it to function properly. Yet we constantly hear that it contributes to health issues like high blood pressure, stroke, poor kidney function, stomach cancer, osteoporosis and heart failure. So if our bodies need sodium to function properly, why has it gotten such a bad rap?

This is why table salt can cause such significant health problems.

It gets worse…

Studies have shown that for each gram of table salt that is consumed, your body will use 20 TIMES the amount of water in your cells to neutralize the amount of sodium chloride that is present within it. This is why many people report getting puffy and bloated from eating too much table salt…your body retains water in an effort to process it.

An important point to note is that most processed foods contain a ridiculous amount of table salt. So even if you’re not adding salt to your food, you are likely consuming an abundance of it if you eat processed foods.
