Simple Grape Slushy Recipe (Includes a Side of Serious Health Benefits)

I remember being mesmerized by icee and slurpee machines when I was kid. The vibrant colors and swirling motion of the delicious frozen concoction inside was hypnotic. And of course, I begged my mom for one every chance I got.

Guess what? That’s not an accident! Those machines are designed to lure children in…or adults who are nursing a hangover. (Or was that just me back in the day?) It’s actually a very clever marketing ploy.

Sadly, the ingredients inside those mesmerizing machines are disgusting. Loads of health-harming processed sugars, artificial colors, chemical flavors, preservatives and unnatural fillers are lurking inside.

The good news is you can enjoy a super yummy slushy (or icee or slurpee or whatever you like to call it) that’s actually good for you! And it only requires 2 simple ingredients.

SCORE!

THE 2-INGREDIENT RECIPE

This slushy is ridiculously easy to make:

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of Frozen Red Grapes
  • 1 Cup of Chilled Purified Water (I use this to purify my tap water.)

Directions:

  1. Put the ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. (If you use a Blendtec like I do, the smoothie setting works perfectly for this recipe.)
  2. Pour the mixture into a fun glass and enjoy!

NOTE: If you want to make your slushy thicker or more icy, simply add a few ice cubes to the mix.

It’s naturally sweet and tastes so good!!! And the color doesn’t look like something from a science experiment.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF RED GRAPES

Red grapes are a great source of resveratrol, which is a potent antioxidant that provides multiple health benefits:

  • It improves the health of skin and builds collagen to help control the skin aging process.
  • It builds your immune system to help fight serious diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s.
  • It improves blood flow to your brain by an estimated 200%, which speeds mental responses and abilities.
  • It helps prevent heart disease.
  • It improves eyesight.

But that’s not all! Red grapes also increase moisture in the lungs, which can help cure asthma.

Cheers to enjoying a slushy that’s actually good for you!

With love and gratitude,

Kandi
